Thermosensitivity in the fashion world

Alexander Wang, the famous designer arrived with something brand new to the New York Fashion Week: Thermo-reactive clothes change their hue as the temperature changes!

The heat-sensitive skirt and top suit, which were featured in the same Autumn-Winter 2014 collection, begin at a more modest price of $2,550. Each of them looks the same as the other, until they’re exposed to heat, at which point they reveal their true colors.

Models dressed in black outfits were gummed up to a giant round turntable that began to rotate releasing heating vents. As the circle started and stopped, the thermo-reactive leather clothes changed colors from orange flashes to bright yellow and blue, or vivid pink depending on the heat exposure. Where the fabric is less affected it produces a shadowing effect. Surprising from Wang who mainly sticks to monochromatic black and white collections.

We are amazed by these innovative textiles and materials which show just how much technology is changing the fashion world!

Let’s stop for a minute… Have you checked the nails of the models? They are kind of whitish or nude… Evergreen solutions, suit for every occasion.

Imagine that the nails change their colors by heat as the clothes do.  It would give an extra twist to the show, wouldn’t it?

It is already possible with thermo sensitive chameleon gels, classic and One Step gel-polishes, acrylic powders or nail polishes!

You will never get bored with your nails as they change their shades as you are holding an ice cold coke can or you are swimming in a cool pool…
